Community Immersion
The Community Immersion Process is centralized around the theme of "Deconditioning". Community Immersion is one of the many processes a fellow undergoes during the Gandhi Fellowship. During this process a fellow is expected to live in a community for a period of 1 month and carryout certain tasks like conducting an event, fundraising and organizing focus group discussions.

Cleanliness Drive - Swachta Abhiyan

During my Community Immersion at village Khajpur Naya, I recognised the community's need for a proper waste management system and thought of doing something about it. I came up with the idea of launching Swatch Khajpur Abhiyan in the village. After conceiving the idea I was unsure of how to execute it, but then I deconstructed the task at hand into small logical steps. I successfully launched Swatch Khajpur Abhiyan on 02/01/2022 with the support of Sarpanch Ji and over 100 members of the community ranging from kids to elders.

Focus Group Discussion

During my stay at Khajpur Naya Village, I conducted three Focus Group Discussions with the different segments of the population on topics of relevance. Two FGDs were facilitated with the help of Anganwadi Workers and the third one was more of a career guidance discussion for the youth. During my discussion I got to know the other side of the story and gained insights into their perspective and way of thinking.

School Change Story

Fundraising

The one part of working in the development sector I have absolutely dreaded is FUNDRAISING, but during my Community Immersion Process I took it up as a challenge to raise some funds irrespective of the amount I will be able to raise. The objective was to distribute sweaters in school via crowdfunding and involving influential members of the society.
