PUBLIC SYSTEM PROJECT
During my Field Support, while interacting with school-going girls and women in the community and during Community Immersion experiencing a shortage of pads and issues around disposing of used sanitary napkins, I brainstormed and came to the solution of fundraising to distribute reusable sanitary napkins to the school girls and conducting workshops that educate and dispel myths and misinformation around menstruation.
COMMUNITY IMMERSION
The Community Immersion Process is centralized around the theme of "Deconditioning". Community Immersion is one of the many processes a fellow undergoes during the Gandhi Fellowship. During this process a fellow is expected to live in a community for a period of 1 month and carryout certain tasks like conducting an event, fundraising and organizing focus group discussions.
TEACHER LEARNING LAB
Teacher Learning Lab is a virtual professional development community for teachers of rural public schools. Once a month an online capacity-building session on a topic of utmost pertinence is conducted for teachers.
Rural Schools Program is being run in 50 Government Schools in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, India to transform public school students into adept changemakers of the 21st century who do not rely on others to solve the challenges they are facing on both personal and community levels.
RURAL SCHOOLS PROGRAM
In Project Based Learning, teachers make learning come alive for students. Students work on a project over an extended period of time – from a week up to a semester – that engages them in solving a real-world problem or answering a complex question.
PROJECT BASED LEARNING
Student Learning Centers are spaces in the schools where students can exercise absolute autonomy of learning and can learn at their own pace. The SLCs are a place in school where students engage in true joyful and meaningful learning.
